Four arrested for trying to extort money from shopkeepers
Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime News | The month of Ramzan is underway. Few goons of Rasta Peth wanted to go to Goa to celebrate Eid and they were extorting money from shopkeepers. The goons assaulted those shopkeepers who did not give money. (Pune Crime News)
The Samarth police have arrested Aman Ibrahim Khan (21), Hamza Tasawar Shaikh, Hujefa Shaikh (19), Mohammad Shaikh (19), all residents of Rasta Peth. Aman Shaikh and Hamza Shaikh are criminals on records.
Naved Zakir Ansari (24), a resident of Nana Peth, has lodged a complaint (95/23) at the Samarth police station.
According to the police, the complainant owns a shop, Ubed Mobile Shoppee in Rasta Peth. The accused came to the shop. They told the complainant that they wanted to go to Goa to celebrate Eid and sought money. They threatened to assault him and vandalise the shop if he did not pay up. When the complainant refused to give money, Hamza Shaikh and Aman Khan assaulted him and seriously injured him. They assaulted the complainant’s brother and vandalised the shop.
