Notorious criminal from Pune detained at Nashik Central Jail for a year; Seventh action under MPDA Act by Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr

Pune : Policenama onlinePune Crime News | A detainment action has been taken against a notorious criminal who was operating in the jurisdiction of Bund Garden police station. Cases like attempted murder, robbery and harbouring weapons without licence are registered against the criminal. Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr has so far taken action against seven persons under the MPDA Act. (Pune Crime News)

 

The accused has been identified as Ram alias Ramya Gangadhar Kshirsagar (22), a resident of Mundhwa. The accused has committed serious offences like harbouring sickles, swords and cases like attempt to murder, robbery, causing serious injuries are registered against him and his aides. Nine serious crimes are registered against him in the last five years. His behaviour and actions were creating disturbance in maintaining law and order.

 

Senior PI Pratap Mankar of Bund Garden police station had prepared a proposal to detain Kshirsagar under the MPDA Act and sent it to the police commissioner through senior officials. Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr after examining the proposals and documents issued an order to detain the criminal for a year at the Nashik Central Jail.

 

The action was taken by Senior PI Pratap Mankar and Senior PI of PCB Crime Branch Vaishali Chandgude. The police commissioner has taken action of detainment against seven persons. The police have said that they would continue to take such action against criminals. Various measures like using MCOCA, externment and detainment are being taken to deal with the threat posed by criminals.
