Officers of Pune police Crime Branch arrest externed criminal
Pune : Policenama online – A notorious criminal who has been externed for two years, was arrested by officials of Crime Branch unit 1 of Pune police for roaming in the city and a Rambo knife was seized from him. The action was taken on a road in Kashewadi.
Officials of unit 1 were patrolling in the jurisdiction of Khadak police station. They received information that a criminal who has been externed from Pune district for two years, is waiting on a road in Kashewadi. The police arrested him after laying a trap.
When he was searched, a Rambo knife worth Rs 1,000 was seized. The police have registered an FIR under Arms Act at the Khadak police station. The Khadak police are carrying out further investigation.
Sixteen cases including those of fighting, house break-in and robbery have been registered against him at Khadak, Samarth and Swargate police stations. He has been externed from Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune district for two years.
The action was taken by a team of police officers including police inspector Shailesh Sankhe, PSI Sanjay Gaikwad, PSI Sunil Kulkarni, policeman Amol Pawar, Imran Shaikh, Ayyaz Daddikar, Tushar Malvadkar and Mahesh Bamgude under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Additional CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Shrinivas Ghadge and ACP (crime 1) Gajanan Tompe.
