Police arrests 2 for stalking, harassing, intimidating girl in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 5 (UNI) – Srinagar Crime News | Srinagar police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two people for stalking, harassing and intimidating a girl, officials said. (Srinagar Crime News)

 

Police said on March 4, a girl was stalked and harassed by two boys, riding a scooty. The boys had made lewd gestures and comments against the girl.

 

The girl had posted about the incident on her social media account and subsequently also approached police post Nehru Park with a written application, police said.

 

On receipt of the complaint, an FIR was lodged under relevant sections of the law in Ram Munshi Bagh Police Station.

 

The accused boys identified as Saqib Mehraj Sheikh and Faizan Yousuf Sheikh, both residents of Kanidiver Hawal, were arrested by the police and the scooty on which they committed the offence has also been seized.

 

The two will be produced in Court for getting their Police remand, they said.

 

Srinagar police urged people to fight against harassment of women. The general public is advised to report all such incidents to police for action.
