Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime | The Bharati Vidyapeeth police have arrested the Chuha gang which was in the process of committing a robbery. The police have arrested the gang leader and his five aides. The action was taken on Sunday (July 24) at Katraj on the Sachhai Mata Hill opposite Patangrao Kadam’s bungalow. The police apprehended the criminals as they were about to commit a robbery. (Pune Crime)
The leader of the Chuha gang, Tausif alias Chuha Jamir Sayed, a resident of Katraj, Azharuddin Dilawar Shiekh (22), a resident of Katraj, Ishan Nisar Sheikh (20), a resident of Katraj, Ganesh Vijay Bhandalkar (21), a resident of Katraj, Kaif Arif Sheikh (18), a resident of Katraj have been arrested. Policeman Vikram Sawant has lodged a complaint at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. A case has been filed at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station under sections 399, 402 of the IPC, Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.
Policemen Vikram Sawant, Ashish Gaikwad and Abhinay Chaudhary got the information that the leader of Chuha gang Tausif and his aides were planning to commit a robbery at Katraj. Accordingly, the police laid a trap and arrested the accused. Two sickles, chilli powder, iron rods and mobile were seized from them. PSI Narle is investigating the case.
The action was taken by a team of officials including PSI Dhiraj Gupta, PSI Shinde and policemen Ravindra Chippa, Ganesh Bhosale, Narendra Mahangare, Avdhoot Jamdade, Abhinay Chaudhary, Ashish Gaikwad, Mitesh Chormole, Nilesh Khairmode, Vikram Sawant, Harshal Shinde, Dhanaji Dhotre, Rahul Tambe, Abhijit Jadhav, Sachin Sarpale and Tulshiram Tembhurne under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, DCP Sagar Patil, ACP Sushma Chavan, senior PI Jagannath Kalaskar and PI Sangita Yadav.
