Pune Crime News | Pune: Man harbouring two arrested terrorists in Pune arrested by ATS
PUNE: Pune Crime News | The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has announced that they know the identity of the person who helped the two wanted terrorists, who were arrested recently, after they came to Pune. However, ATS officials have refused to disclose his name and he is being questioned. The ATS arrested the person for helping the terrorists on July 26.
The Pune police had arrested Mohammad Yunus Mohammad Yaku Saki (24) and Mohammad Imran Mohammad Yusuf Khan (23), both residents of Kondhwa and hailing from Madhya Pradesh and Mohammad Shahnawaz Alam (31) is absconding.
An FIR has been registered against them at the Kothrud police station. The ATS is searching for the absconding accused.
After the terrorists were questioned, the police came to know that they were absconding in a case being probed by the NIA. They also came to know that a reward of ₹5 lakh each had been announced for them. The DGP transferred the case to ATS which has started probing the case.
After questioning the terrorists and from the information provided by the accused, a laptop, tab, weighing scale, drone, maps, battery cell, electronic circuit, soldering gun, black chemical powder and books in Urdu and Arabic were seized from a flat. The experts have confirmed that the powder found is a chemical. The tents used by the accused for staying in the jungle have been seized. The seized material has been sent to the forensic lab.
During the probe and from the seized material, it came to light that the accused had undergone training to make bombs to harm the unity and territorial integrity of the country and charges under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act have been added to the FIR, ATS officials said.
Meanwhile, the ATS has arrested a man for harbouring the two terrorists after they came to Pune. His identity has not been disclosed and he is being questioned by ATS officials. ATS officials have said that his identity will be revealed after the probe has been completed.
