Pune News | On location vaccination for Laxmi road shopkeepers

Policenama | Pune Municipal Corporation is planning to start a pilot project to administered vaccines to specially-abled persons at home, now has decided to vaccinate shopkeepers at main markets like Laxmi Road and nearby areas to curb the spread of the virus.

The decision has been taken recently where shopkeepers will get vaccine jabs at the shop.

Rubal Agrawal, Additional Municipal Commissioner informed about the drive recently. From Thursday the drive will start at Laxmi Road.

According to PMC, there are chances that once the restrictions are uplifted citizens will throng the shops and these shopping events can be superspreader. hence to curb this the civic body has decided the administer vaccines to all shopkeepers located on Laxmi Road.

Pune’s Jumbo Covid Center closed

The second wave of Covid-19 cases is declining and there is hardly any patient at the Covid care center in Pune. Hence, the PMC has decided to close the center.

After a first wave, the center was closed on January 15. Later with increasing cases, the center’s function was resumed on March 22. From March 22 to July 1 the center served around 3009 covid-19 patients. Now the center has been closed.

Pune will remain under Level 3
Pune will remain under level 3 restrictions said Deputy Chief Minister and Pune district Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar recently. The restrictions will be effective from Monday. Pawar on Friday took the Covid-19 review meeting and declared about continuing the Level-3 restrictions.

He highlighted the city’s increasing positivity rate. In the press conference, he said, “Last week the positivity rate was 4.6 this week it has increased and it is now 5.3. Considering this we have decided to continue the level 3 restrictions in Pune.”

He also highlighted that classes of medical college can be resumed provided all students and doctors should be vaccinated on priority.
