Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Rural Police | Funds of ₹100 crore will be provided for infrastructure facilities of Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad Police and Pune Rural Police, says Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil

PUNE : Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Rural Police | A sum of ₹50 crore from the Pune District Planning Committee (DPC) and ₹50 crore from the Social Responsibility Fund will be made available to provide infrastructure facilities for Pune Police, Pimpri Chinchwad Police and Pune Rural Police. A fund of ₹41 crore is being made available and the remaining amount will be sanctioned soon, said Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil.

 

 

He was speaking during the inauguration of the new building of the Velhe Police Station which comes under Pune Rural Police.
Special DGP of Kolhapur Range Sunil Phulari, SP Ankit Goyal, Addl SP Mitesh Gatte, SDO Rajendra Kachare, Tahsildar Dinesh Parge, BDO Pankaj Shelke, SDPO Bhausaheb Dhole, PWD Superintendent Engineer Bappa Bahir and others were present.

 

Patil said that the funds are being made available to provide modern equipment and build police quarters which will help in maintaining law and order. From the DPC, ₹2 crore has been made available each to Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate and Pune Rural Police for vehicles. Funds of more than ₹2 lakh have been given for the gymnasium at the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. The police station at Velhe has been constructed by using modern technology. From the DPC, funds of ₹3.34 crore have been made available for the administrative building and furniture. In the future, if required, funds will be made available for the police department. He hoped that effective policing will be carried out from the building.

 

The police department is using new technologies to investigate crimes. Hence, citizens should inform the police about events in their surroundings. The police department should carry out impartial investigation and provide justice to the common man. Probes related to cases involving women and caste disputes should be speedily investigated. The police should be alert so that crimes don’t happen. Sufficient funds are being made available for development of Velhe taluka as per the demand and they will be provided in the future also, he said.

 

Special IGP Fulari said, “The Velhe Police Station building is environment and nature friendly. The police department is committed to provide justice to the common man and police officers and staff should work in an impartial manner. Fulari said that if any unforeseen events happen in any area, the citizens should immediately contact the police.
SP Goyal said that the old police station was in a British era building. Since that structure was in a dilapidated condition, the police station had been shifted to a rented place from 2016. Funds have been made available from DPC for constructing the new building and furniture.

 

Patil expressed satisfaction about the newly constructed building and he planted saplings in the area of the police station. API Pawar of Velhe Police Station was felicitated. Pawar traced the accused involved in raping a three-year-old girl in Panshet in 48 hours. The case was heard in the Fast Track Court. Since the investigation was done in a thorough manner and evidence was presented, the accused was sentenced to death. For this, Pawar has been honoured as best investigating officer and has received medals from the home minister and the DGP.
On the occasion, present and former members of zilla parishad, panchayat samiti, sarpanch, members of gram panchayat and citizens were present.

 

The Velhe Police Station is spread over 783.30 sq m. There are 12 offices on the ground floor and the first floor has six offices. There are 129 villages in the limits of the police station which is quite large.
Hills, two forts, three dams, tourist places, temple of Mengai Mata, resting place of Maharani Rajmata Saibai, Pal are located in the limits of the police station. The staff have planted saplings in the area of the police station.
