Pune Ring Road | Justice not done to farmers while acquiring land for Ring Road, stir launched in front of collectorate

Pune: Pune Ring Road | Injustice is being done to farmers while acquiring land for the Ring Road. Demanding five times more than the market price for their land, the Shetkari Hakka Samiti, the farmers’ body, launched a dharna agitation in front of the district collectorate.

Farmers from Kalyan, Ranje, Rathavade, Vardade, Vasavewadi, Sangrun, Mandvi, Tatvadi, Bahuli and other villages from Haveli taluka are participating in the agitation.

“We are not against development. When the preliminary notice was issued it mentioned seasonally irrigated land. However, when the final notice was issued, it mentioned kharip season. Therefore, we will get less compensation. We should get five times more compensation than the market price as per the Government Resolution (GR) issued in this regard,” said the farmers.
