Pune: The leaders, who otherwise seemed to be making accusations and counter-accusations at each other, were seen today discussing the developmental issues of Pune city. Today, Mahyuti’s official candidate, Murlidhar Mohol, Mahavikas Aaghadi’s candidate, Ravindra Dhangekar, and an independent candidate, Vasant More, rendezvoused at Vadeshwar Katta in Pune along with social activists, where they seemed to be talking to each other and discussing the city’s vision in the next 50 to 100 years.

The election campaigning has started with big fervour from both Mahyuti and Mahavikas Aaghadi. Both candidates have started their preparations for the election. However, today they all met at the famous Vadeshwar Katta in Pune. At this time, they were convincing the people about their developmental model of the city, their vision, and why they were the best candidates for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency.

While speaking at this time, Murlidhar Mohol, the official candidate of the Mahayuti alliance, said, “Whatever has happened has happened. It is the past. I want to concentrate on the future of Pune. I want to work towards the sustainable development of Pune city so that the upcoming generation will not blame us for having done nothing for them.”

Mohol further added, “As this is an important election from the nation’s point of view, there is a need to look at this election from the central government’s point of view. For the past many years, I have been working as a corporator, chairman of the standing committee, and mayor of this city. Therefore, I have a good understanding of the city’s needs. Therefore, I believe that I am the best candidate for the Pune Lok Sabha Constituency,” asserted Mohol.

While advocating his candidature, Dhangekar argued, “While working in social and political life, I do not set any boundaries around me. I humbly reached out to every person in the city and worked to solve their problems. Therefore, there is a strong connection between me and Punekars. That is why people showed trust in me and elected me in the Kasba by-poll election.”

Dhangekar added, “Any country progressed only in democracy. Today, democracy is under threat in the country. Today, many opposition leaders were taken into the BJP on the threat of central agencies. Some of them who did not bend to this pressure, like Kejriwal, were sent to jail. Overall, there is a dictatorship-like situation in the country. Therefore, to save democracy, there needs to be an alternative to the BJP in the country.”

“I’ve made a hard choice while parting ways from my party. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has a strong vote base in the city. A wrong report went to the party high command regarding the election, so I stepped out of the party. However, I am confident that I can give a new direction to city politics. I have long been fighting for Punekar’s causes. So I want to fight this election for Puneites too. Today, traffic, garbage, and water are important issues, and I want to contest the upcoming election on these issues,” said Vasant More, an aspiring independent candidate for Pune Lok Sabha.
