Riya Rahul Pawar | NRIs mesmerised by Ria Pawar’s voice; PM Modi claps to applaud her performance

WALCHAND NAGAR : Policenama online  – Sixteen-year-old Ria Rahul Pawar from Pune’s Pawar family sang the anthem of the United States during a programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and mesmerised NRIs. PM Modi also applauded her by clapping and told Ria that she had a good voice.

Shraddha Rahul Pawar-Bhosale and Rahul Suresh Pawar, who hail from Rasta Peth in Pune, have settled in the US and at present, stay in New Jersey.

 

Ria Pawar is the granddaughter of Mangal Vitthal Bhosale of Walchand Nagar. Ria has a beautiful voice and she is fond of singing. She is learning Indian classical music and she is interested in Bollywood and western music. A programme was held at Washington DC which was attended by NRIs and Indian diaspora. After Modi came on the stage, slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram were chanted by the audience. After India’s national anthem was sung, Ria Pawar got the opportunity to sing the US national anthem. NRIs and PM Modi were mesmerised by Ria’s voice. Modi clapped and praised Ria’s performance.

 

Ria Rahul Pawar said, “I was very happy to meet PM Narendra Modi. I feel proud that I was able to sing the national anthem in his presence. His blessings will be a source of inspiration for me.”

 

“It was a great moment when Ria presented the national anthem in PM Modi’s presence. Our eyes were moist. Because of Modi’s signing of defence and other agreements with the US, India’s image has received a boost in the international arena. Due to Google’s new agreement, Indian students will benefit and they will be able to study in various languages,” Ria’s mother Shraddha Pawar-Bhosle and father Rahul Pawar said.
