Woman cheated of ₹2 lakh by luring her with free thali offer

PUNE : Policenama online  – Pune Crime News | A cyber crook cheated a woman of nearly ₹2 lakh by creating an impression that there was an offer a free thali on a thali. What is surprising is that the crook is from Kerala and he was offering a free thali offer at Sukanta restaurant in Pune. (Pune Crime News)

 

A 38-year-woman resident of Shukrawar Peth has lodged a complaint at the Khadak police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against Prakash Kumar, a resident of Munnar, Kerala and his aides. The incident had taken place on July 22, 2022.

 

According to the police, an advertisement of a free thali on a thali at Sukanta restaurant had been posted on the Facebook account of the complainant’s mother. When the complainant’s father called on a mobile number, a person collected information about his bank account and withdrew ₹1.99 lakh by using his ICICI credit card and cheated him. Senior PI Sangita Yadav is investigating the case.
