Woman raped; Rs 16.86 lakh extorted by threatening to make obscene videos viral

Pune : Policenama online Pune Crime News | A man raped a woman, who had come to Pune to buy books and whom he was acquainted with during a bus journey, by giving her intoxicant in a soft drink. He captured her naked videos. By threatening to make them viral, he extorted Rs 16.86 lakh. The man has been arrested by the Shivajinagar Police. (Pune Crime News)

 

The arrested person has been identified as Faheem Naeem Syed (33) from Pimpri. A 27-year-old woman lodged a complaint at Shivajinagar Police Station. The incident took place at Vijay Lodge in front of Balgandharva Rangmandir from 4.30 pm on November 2 to 11 am on November 3 and from 5 November 2022 to January 19, 2023.

 

According to the police, the complainant woman lives in Sangli and while coming to Pune, she met Faheem Syed in a bus. He told her that he runs a travel agency. They exchanged their mobile numbers and started talking. On November 2, when she was coming to Pune, he called her. They bought books. He then took her to a hotel in Balgandharva Chowk saying that they would have lunch. He offered her soft drink laced with sedative and took her to Vijay Lodge, where he raped her and captured her intimate videos. Two days later, he threatened to make the videos viral. In return, he started demanding money.

 

To avoid embarrassment, the woman took out a loan and gave him Rs 16.86 lakh within a month. However, as his demand for money grew, she approached the police and lodged a complaint. The police arrested Faheem Syed. It was revealed that Syed does not own a travel agency but he is a driver in an agency.
