141 Pune police personnel found Covid-19 positive
Pune : Policenama online – Cops in the Pune police force are contracting Covid-19 as they have to be on duty on city roads and elsewhere in public places. In all, 141 cops have tested positive from the Pune police till date after the third wave has set in.
In all, 11 officers and police personnel in the Pune cyber police have also got the infection. They are investigating the MahaTET question paper leak scam. The accused in the scam tested positive after their magisterial custody was granted by the court. Suspended State Examination Council commissioner Tukaram Supe, Ashwinkumar, Ashutosh Sharma, Nishid Gaikwad, Rahul Linghot and Shivkumar have contracted the virus. DCP Bhagyashree Navatake is among the Pune cyber police officials who were found Covid-19 positive.
Action against people for not wearing masks
The city police have started taking action against people not wearing masks at public places. Over 1,500 people have been penalised for not wearing masks. Rs 500 each have been recovered from them as the penalty. Thus, around Rs 7.5 lakh have been collected in the past couple of days. The action will be intensified.
