Ashadhi Ekadashi Yatra | The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has successfully catered to the needs of devotees during the Ashadhi Ekadashi Yatra by providing extra buses from Vallabhnagar Agara to Pandharpur. The initiative aimed to offer proper, timely, and safe transportation services to the pilgrims visiting the beloved Vithu Mauli of Pandharpur from the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Private vehicles often exploit devotees by charging exorbitant fares during this period. In contrast, the ST buses have proven to be a reliable and affordable option for the devotees. A total of 24 extra buses were deployed, ensuring that all the buses ran at full capacity throughout the seven-day yatra. This initiative has not only facilitated the smooth movement of devotees but has also generated a record income of ₹7 lakhs for the Agar Pramukh during the yatra.
Sanjay Valve, the ST Agara Manager in Vallabhnagar, expressed the corporation’s commitment to providing proper and safe services to passengers. He emphasized the trust that devotees have placed in corporation buses, as they are seen as a reliable alternative to private transportation. The income generated and the overwhelming response from passengers highlight the success of this initiative and the preference for ST buses among the pilgrims.
By offering reasonable rates and ensuring full occupancy of buses, the ST has played a crucial role in minimizing the inconvenience caused by private transporters who often exploit devotees. This effort signifies the commitment of the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation to serve the public and contribute to a smoother and more enjoyable pilgrimage experience.
