Pune : Pune Ring Road | The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has initiated the land acquisition process for the circular road project aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad cities. The project involves the construction of a 172 km long and 110-meter wide circular road divided into eastern and western parts. As part of the process, notices are being issued to affected individuals for land acquisition.

The circular road project requires the acquisition of approximately 695 hectares of land, with the eastern part encompassing several villages in Maval, Khed, Haveli, Purandar, and Bhor, while the western part includes villages in Bhor, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval. The valuation of lands to be acquired has been completed, taking into consideration the premises owners and ensuring separate valuations for each land to mitigate losses for farmers. Maval and Mulshi talukas have taken the lead in land valuation, completing the necessary procedures for land acquisition in these areas.

To incentivize voluntary land contribution, the district administration has reiterated that individuals who provide land voluntarily will receive an additional 25 percent compensation. Therefore, builders and landowners have been urged to provide their consent within the stipulated timeframe. Once the land acquisition process is completed, the actual construction work on the western region of the circular road will commence.

The issuance of land acquisition notices to affected farmers marks an important step in the implementation of the circular road project. The Sub Divisional Officer of Haveli, Sanjay Asawle, has confirmed that the process of issuing notices to the affected individuals has begun and is being conducted in coordination with the Talhats.

The circular road project holds great promise in addressing the pressing issue of traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad cities. By providing alternative routes and improved connectivity, it aims to enhance the transportation infrastructure and promote smoother traffic flow. The successful completion of the land acquisition process will pave the way for the timely implementation of this vital infrastructure project, benefiting the residents and commuters of the region.
