Pune : Policenama online – Corporator Patil Archana Tushar | Close on the heels of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s decision to grant 100 percent concession in general tax to the relatives of property owners dying due to Covid-19, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has also decided to grant 100-percent concession in general tax to Corona virus victims in the city for the coming financial year.
Moreover, the inheritance fee will also be waived while transferring ownership of properties of Corona victims to their kin. This demand was raised by Corporator Archana Tushar Patil in the Standing Committee meeting, which was approved.
The first Covid-19 patient in Maharashtra was found in Pune in 2020. The civic administration, along with other government and private agencies, has been fighting the disease on all fronts. It has succeeded in checking the spread of the infection by taking various steps.
However, the dangerous wave claimed many citizens. Many children lost both parents. In the absence of an earning member in the family, they have been left to fend for themselves. Hence, the 100-pc concession in general tax should be extended to them in the coming financial year, demanded corporator Archana Tushar Patil earlier.
“I thank Standing Committee Chairman Hemant Rasane for granting my demand by the committee. Citizens and relatives of Covid-19 victims will definitely be benefited,” said Archana Tushar Patil, a member of the Standing Committee.
