Fugitive accused in MCOCA crime arrested by the Airport Police

Pune : Policenama onlinePune Crime News | Action has been initiated against a gang under the MCOCA that extorted money from the owner of a company’s showroom in Phoenix Mall in Viman Nagar by threatening to kill him. The Airport Police arrested the absconding accused after the MCOCA operation. (Pune Crime News)

 

The arrested accused has been identified as Deepak Sampat Gaikwad (47) from Pune, Ravindra Jayprakash Sasane (49) from Pune, Mangal Ramesh Satpute (approximately 40) from Vishrantwadi have been booked under the MCOCA for demanding extortion from the owner of a company’s showroom in Phoenix Mall in Viman Nagar. Accused Ravindra Sasane is a criminal on police record. Sasane and Satpute are currently in judicial custody while Gaikwad was absconding.

 

PSI Ravindra Dhaware and police constable Umesh Dhende got a tip-off that the absconding accused in the MCOCA crime would be coming to Mula Road, Khadki. Accordingly, the police laid a trap at Mula Road. When Deepak Gaikwad came to the place, the police arrested him.

 

The action was taken by a team comprising Sr PI Vilas Sonde, PI Crime Sangita Mali, PSI Ravindra Dhaware, Police Constables Umesh Dhende, Sachin Jadhav, Sachin Kadam, Rupesh Pisal, Girish Nanekar, Ankush Jogdande, Dadasaheb Barde, Yogesh Thopte, Dnyandev Awari under the guidance of CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Shashikant Borate, ACP Kishore Jadhav.
