While speaking to the reporters after the flag hoisting ceremony in Pune, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar referring to the protest’s plan to march to the Governor’s resident, said, “The Governor could have postponed his tour if he wanted to give priority to the farmers”.
In support of the farmers’ movement, farmers had staged a huge protest in Mumbai. However, NCP president Sharad Pawar had criticized the governor for not visiting. Now the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also targeted the governor for not visiting the farmers’ delegation.
He said, “The farmers’ union had asked for time to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on the January 25. After that, Raj Bhavan informed that the Governor went on a tour to Goa while the farmers had traveled hundreds of kilometers to meet him. Therefore, if the farmers were his priority, he would have postponed his tour and met the farmers’ delegation”.
“Mr. Governor is a prominent person in the state. Therefore, it is not in my intellect to say anything about him, in the end, people have seen it”, said Pawar.
