Maharashtra | 10 state ministers, 20 legislators contracted Covid-19: Ajit Pawar

Pune : Policenama online  – The Covid-19 variants, Delta and Omicron, have started spreading fast again. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar revealed on Saturday here that 10 ministers and 20 MLAs have contracted the virus. He was replying to queries by reporters. (Maharashtra)

 

Indicating tough days ahead, Pawar said, “If the number of Covid-19 patients keeps on growing, the state government could clamp more restrictions.”

 

“During the state legislature’s winter session, 10 ministers and 20 MLAs were found positive in merely five days. The state government announced the new guidelines yesterday. People’s representatives and citizens should strictly follow the guidelines,” said the minister.

 

‘We paid heavily during the second wave’

“Everyone feels that their functions should be grand. However, the new Covid-19 variant is spreading fast. Lakhs of patients are found in America, England. We have paid dearly during the second wave. Every life is precious. The government is trying to do its best in that direction. People should not resist the guidelines calling them stringent. All should cooperate,” said Ajit Pawar.
