Maharashtra State Examination Council | Maharashtra State Examination Council to issue digital certificates and marksheets
Pune: Policenama online – Maharashtra State Examination Council | Incidents of fake passing certificates of TET and typing and other exams conducted by Maharashtra State Examination Council had come to light. To prevent such incidents, the council has decided to issue only digital certificates of all exams. In all certificates, digital signatures and QR codes are going to be used. The council will also save money by issuing digital certificates.
The verification of all certificates will be carried out on an official level through QR codes. In the first phase, the government commerce certificate exam was held in February and 62,706 students had appeared for typing and shorthand exams. Of them, 49,482 (pass) students will be issued certificates and 12,224 (absent, failed and reserve) students will be issued marksheets in the online mode through a login for the concerned institutes.
In the future, for all exams conducted by the council, certificates and marksheets having digital signatures will be issued. At present, the concerned institutes are being given access to certificates and marksheets through their logins. In the next exam, the students’ email ID, mobile number and Aadhaar number will be collected and the certificates will be sent to candidates’ email ID, said President of Maharashtra State Examination Council Dr Nandkumar Bedse.
Because of issuance of digital certificates, candidates will get marksheets and certificates within 15 days of the declaration of the result. At present, it takes one or two months for the documents to reach the candidates. Considering the irregularities in the distribution of certificates earlier, the digital signature will ensure that there are no discrepancies.
Since the students’ certificates will be available on the website on a permanent basis, it will not be necessary to independently verify it. Due to issuance of digital certificates and marksheets, the expenses on printing of certificates, postage and transport will be saved.
