Pune | 11-month-old baby dies due to fire in sugarcane farm

PunePolicenama online  – Pune | A 11-month-old baby died when fire broke out in a sugarcane farm in Banwadi village in Karad taluka. A team of workers from Sangli district is in the village for cutting of the sugarcane crop.

The wife of one of the workers Somaiyya Varvi had put her daughter to sleep and had gone to the field.

In the evening when all workers were busy in cutting the crop, it came to light that a fire had broken out at a place where the baby was kept.

The baby was seriously injured and her parents took her to Krishna Hospital. She was declared as brought dead.

The Karad police visited the village and carried out a panchnama. After examination, the body was handed over to the family.

Heartbreaking scenes were witnessed when the family members wept in grief. Havaldar Deshmukh is investigating the case.
