Pune | Case filed against man for cheating police inspector
Pune : Policenama online – The Bund Garden police have filed a case against a man for cheating a police inspector under the pretext of giving a tip about drugs and firearms. The accused has been identified as Khalilullaha Aiyanulla Khan.
The assistant police inspector of anti-narcotics cell (ANC), Laxman Dengle, has registered a complaint at the Bund Garden police station.
Khan called up the inspector of the ANC and pretended to be a police informer. He told the inspector that two people are going to arrive in a car from Mumbai and they have a pistol and hashish. He took Rs 5,000 from the inspector via an UPI app.
The police conducted a nakabandi in the Bund Garden area and increased surveillance in the area but it was a false tip. A case has been registered against Khan for cheating the police. PSI Pawar is carrying out further investigation.
