Crime branch files FIR against owner of Tolgekar Jewellers for collecting monthly interest of seven per cent

Pune: Policenama online  – Pune Crime | The Anti Extortion Cell of the Pune police crime branch has taken action against the owner of Tolgekar Jewellers Prashant Suresh Tolgekar for demanding more money even after collecting a monthly interest of seven per cent. A case has been filed against Tolgekar at the Sinhagad Road police station. (Pune Crime)

 

The complainant who stays in Hingne Khurd, needed some money urgently and had taken some money from Prashant Tolgekar, a resident of Hingne Khurd on October 20, 2020. The complainant had kept the documents of his Swift Dzire car and his flat as surety. Prashant Tolgekar had given the complainant a loan of Rs 3.5 lakh on a monthly interest of seven per cent. The complainant gave Tolgekar an interest of Rs 87,000.

 

The complainant had offered to give Rs four lakh to complete the transaction. However, the accused demanded more money. The accused demanded Rs seven lakh from the complainant. Hence, the complainant had lodged a complaint with the AEC-2. The police have lodged an FIR against Prashant Tolgekar under the provisions of the Maharashtra Lenders Act and section 385 of the IPC. The officials of the Sinhagad Road police station are carrying out a probe.

 

The action was taken by a team of officials including PI Balaji Pandhre, API Changdev Sajagne, PSI Shrikant Chavan, policemen Vijay Gurav, Shailesh Surve, Pradeep Shitole, Vinod Salunkhe, Rahul Uttarkar, Anil Mengde, Amol Pilane, Sangram Shingare, Sachin Ahivale, Saidoba Bhojrao, Chetan Shirolkar, Chetan Apte, Pradeep Gade, Kishor Barge, Pavan Bhosale, Ravi Sankpal, Rupali Karnavar and Asha Kolekar under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar.
