Pune Crime News | Loan app scam! Girl threatened that her reputation will be maligned by sending obscene photos to family members and others

PUNE: Pune Crime News | An incident of a 27-year-old girl being cheated and threatened has happened through a loan app in Baner. The incident took place from July 4 to 23 and an FIR has been registered against unknown persons at the Chatuhshrungi police station for cheating, maligning reputation and the IT Act.

According to the complaint lodged by the girl, the girl had downloaded a loan app on her mobile and for verification, had uploaded Aadhaar card, PAN card, details of her bank account and her photograph on the app.

Later, she applied for a loan through the app. Her application was approved and the amount was credited to her account and the girl repaid the money with the interest within a certain period. However, the girl was getting threatening calls from three mobile numbers to deposit money.

She was threatened that if she did not deposit money, then her obscene photos would be sent to her family members and others and her reputation would be maligned. To prevent maligning her image, she paid ₹49,500. However, the threatening calls continued asking her to pay more money. The girl immediately approached the police station and lodged a complaint against three persons. After verifying her complaint, an FIR has been registered against the concerned accused at the Chatuhshrungi police station.
