Pune Crime News | Seven people vandalise restaurant and assault customers after music is switched off at Waters Bar & Kitchen on Mundhwa-Koregaon Park Road
Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime News | A gang of youths vandalised a restaurant and assaulted the customers because the qawwali music was switched off as it was closing time. The incident took place at Waters Bar & Kitchen located on Mundhwa-Koregaon Park Road on August 5 at 1.30 am. (Pune Crime News)
Nikhil Medankar (32), a resident of Wagholi, has lodged a complaint (263/23) at the Mundhwa police station. Accordingly, an FIR has been registered against Sumit Chowdhary, Sanket Sawant, Prafful Gore, Ajay More, Feroz Shaikh, Anna Bhandari and Nikhil Vanjari.
According to the police, the complainant is involved in event management. A qawwali programme had been organised at the restaurant. Since it was 1.30 am, it was time to close the restaurant. Hence, the owner of the restaurant, Amol Shinalkar, switched off the music and ended the programme. Sumit Chowdhary became angry because of this and started shouting that the programme should continue.
He called other accused and vandalised the furniture in the restaurant. He abused the owner and his cousin and threatened him. He assaulted the bouncer and other customers. Assistant Police Inspector Mahanor is probing the case.
