Pune : Policenama online – Pune Lohegaon International Airport | The bursting of a tyre of an aircraft at Lohegaon International Airport has created a lot of confusion. The incident has affected the movement of flights. The incident happened at 1 pm on Wednesday. Passengers are facing problems because flights are not taking off. The airport administration has closed the air traffic for some time.
A tyre of an aircraft burst while it was taking off and the runway has also been affected. The director of the airport was not available for comments.
The airport administration has stopped flights of some other aircraft and passengers are waiting for hours to board their flights.
The Indian Air Force has issued a clarification about the incident. A Su30 MKI aircraft was trying to land on the airport and one of its tyres burst which affected the runway. The IAF personnel cleared the airstrip in a record time. Hence, the air traffic was minimally affected on Wednesday.
