Sanjay Awasthi unfurled the tricolor in Hamirpur

Hamirpur (HP), Jan 26(UNI) – Sanjay Awasthi | The 74th Republic Day function at the district level was celebrated with enthusiasm in Hamirpur. HP Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Public Works Department, Health and Information and Public Relations) Sanjay Awasthi unfurled the national flag and took the salute from the contingents of Police, Home Guards, NCC and Scouts and Guides.

 

Speaking on occasion, Sanjay Awasthi said that Republic Day was also a day to remember the great freedom fighters, due to whose sacrifices we had achieved independence. He said that this national festival also gives us an opportunity for introspection. On this day it is also important for us to reflect on our journey of development as a republic, the goals achieved during this period and the work to be done in the future.

 

He said that Himachal Pradesh is the land of Gods as well as the land of heroes and the youth of the state consider it their pride to serve in the security forces and armed forces. The state government has provided many facilities to the families of soldiers and ex-servicemen.

 

The Chief Parliamentary Secretary said that the government employees should also ensure that the benefits of the government’s welfare schemes reach every eligible person standing/sitting in the last row.

 

Sanjay Awasthi said that the time limit for awarding government tenders has been reduced from 60 days to 20 days. This will speed up development work and help in ending corruption. The state government is also going to bring a new employment policy.

 

To provide self-employment to the youth, tourism projects will be linked to the start-up scheme. The government will bring a new investment policy, in which government bonds will be reduced for the convenience of investors.

 

On this occasion, the Chief Parliamentary Secretary honored the next of kin of the freedom fighters. He awarded people doing commendable work in various fields, police personnel providing excellent services, participants of parade and cultural programs. He also took out the raffle draw of the District Red Cross Society.
