Bund Garden police arrest accused who absconded after attacking beat marshal

Pune : Policenama online Pune Crime News | A beat Marshal was attacked at the Airport police station over the closure of a Chinese food centre, which was open till late night. The fugitive accused in this crime has been arrested by the Bund Garden police. The accused is identified as Mahanandeshwar alias Mallya Mahadev Batale (24) from Osmanabad. (Pune Crime News)

 

The seriously injured policeman has been identified as Sachin Uttam Jagdale. He lodged a complaint at the airport police station. An FIR has been filed against Mahanandeshwar alias Mallya Mahadev Batale under sections 353, 333 of IPC and the Maharashtra Police Act. The incident took place at around 11:15 pm on Saturday at Samaira Chinese Food Centre, Dhanori Jakat Naka, Lohegaon.

 

The police officer of Bund Garden Police Station got a tip-off that the accused would come to the Pune station area. Accordingly, the investigation team laid a trap and detained the accused. He has been handed over to the airport police for further action.

 

This action was taken by a team comprising PSI Ravindra Gawde, police constables Amol Sarde, Raju Dhulgude, Vilas Kekan, Shankar Sampate, Dnyana Bade, Manoj Bhokare, Sanjay Vanve under the guidance of DCP zone 2 Smartana Patil, ACP RN Raje, Sr PI Pratap Mankar and PI (Crime) Ashwini Satpute.
