The flood waters in Mahad are now receding. Cattle from flood-hit farmers here are most at risk. Most of the animals are likely to be infected with gastroenteritis, said Nilesh Bhanage, founder of PAWS, the Plant and Animals Welfare Society. Accordingly, he also prepared a team of his organization to help and so far he has helped 150 animals.

Institutions from Mahad, Pali, Lonere, Mangaon and other cities are working in this place. Many organizations working for animals are currently supplying stocks of medicines in Mahad. He said stocks of medicines and materials were being sent, especially for animals. Help is being sought from animal friends in Mumbai, Dombivli and Kalyan area. It has been collecting 300 kgs of dog food, 50 kgs of cat food, horse feed tarpaulin sheets, first aid kits, detox, 2.5 kgs of turmeric, betadine, cotton, saline and other medicines since last week.

On Monday, stocks of materials and medicines were once again sent from the rest of the organization. Also, the PAWS organization has provided stocks of drugs for the second time. So, once again on Thursday, the stock of medicines will be sent to Mahad, informed Bhanage. Activists of the PAWS organization in Dombivali are doing relief work at Mahad.
