Jalgaon : Jalgaon News | In a democratic country like India, every citizen who reaches the age of 18 is entitled to exercise their right to vote. However, many young individuals and citizens are unaware of this fundamental right. Recognizing the importance of voting in a democratic system, the district administration, led by Collector Aman Mittal, has taken steps to create awareness and facilitate voter registration.

To encourage maximum participation in elections and ensure a healthy democracy, it is essential that all eligible voters exercise their right to vote. Unfortunately, previous Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections have witnessed only 55 to 60 percent voter turnout. Achieving 100 percent voting is crucial for the robust functioning of democracy. In order to address the issue of low voter registration, the district administration is undertaking periodic awareness campaigns.

A significant hurdle faced by potential voters is the absence of their names in the voter list. However, a solution has been introduced to address this concern. Through the Voter Helpline app, citizens can now register as voters from the comfort of their homes. The app, available for download on the Play Store, offers an array of electoral facilities, including the addition of new names to the voter list, changes to existing entries, removal of deceased voters’ names, and even the acquisition of a voter ID card. This facility can be availed by downloading this app through the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eci.citizen on Google Play Store.

The Voter Helpline app streamlines the registration process for new voters, eliminating the need for visits to government offices. By downloading the app from the Play Store or using the provided link, citizens can conveniently add their names to the voter list, ensuring their permanent inclusion. This user-friendly initiative empowers individuals to exercise their right to vote, enhancing the democratic fabric of the nation.

With the introduction of this technology-driven solution, the district administration aims to increase voter registration and encourage widespread participation in elections. By leveraging the convenience and accessibility of the Voter Helpline app, the electoral process becomes more inclusive and citizen-centric.
