Pune Crime News | Huge quantity of opium seized from Ambegaon Pathar, ANC arrests man
Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime News | The ANC 1 of Pune police Crime Branch has arrested a man for selling opium in Katraj-Ambegaon Pathar area. The police have seized 417 gm 450 mg opium worth ₹8.34 lakh and other goods totally worth ₹13.78 lakh from him. (Pune Crime News)
The arrested accused has been identified as Jitendra Devilal Sharma (38), hailing from Rajasthan and staying in Ambegaon Pathar, Pune. On June 9, 2023, police officials and policemen of ANC 1 were patrolling in limits of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. Policemen Pandurang Pawar and Sachin Malve came to know that a man was selling opium on a road near a STD shop in Swami Nagar in Ambegaon Pathar. They informed Sr PI Vinayak Gaikwad about it. He instructed them to take legal action.
The police laid a tap and arrested Jitendra Devilal Sharma. They seized 417 gm 450 miligram opium worth ₹8.34 lakh, a Maruti car, mobile and scooter totally worth ₹13.78 lakh. An FIR has been registered against Jitendra Sharma at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station under NDPS Act.
The action was taken by Sr PI Vinayak Gaikwad, API Laxman Dengle, policemen Maruti Pardhi, Pravin Uttekar, Vishal Dalvi, Pandurang Pawar, Sandip Shirke, Sachin Malve, Sandesh Kakde, Nitesh Jadhav, Rehana Shaikh and Yogesh Mohite under the guidance of CP Retesh Kumaarrr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Sunil Pawar.
