Pune Railway News | In a bid to provide clean and cool water to passengers, the railway administration in Pune has announced plans to install 17 new water vending machines across the Pune section. Two of these machines will be installed at the Pune railway station, offering great convenience to passengers.

The Pune Railway Administration has taken proactive measures to ensure the availability of pure water through these vending machines. The administration has initiated the tender process, which is being conducted entirely online. The railway authorities have stated that these machines will be installed at the Pune station within the next two months.

The Decision to Remove IRCTC Machines Previously, the water vending machines at railway stations were installed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). However, these machines have now been removed, and the railway administration will install the new vending machines through an e-auction process. Initially, it was planned to install nine machines at the Pune station. However, considering the space constraints on other platforms, the machines will now be installed only on platform number 1.

Dr. Ramdas Bhise, the Public Relations Officer of the Pune Division Railways, stated, “We have planned to install water vending machines at railway stations to provide passengers with access to pure water. Two machines will be installed at the Pune railway station, while 15 machines will be installed at other stations in the division within the next two months.”
