Pune: A startling incident of molesting a walking girl by halting her in the streets and attempting to kiss her took place in the Kondhwa area. In this regard, a 20-year-old girl filed a complaint against one accused at Kondhwa police station.
The accused is identified as Bharatlal Ramprasad Kuldeep Varma, 19, and is a resident of Krishnanagar, Mahammadwadi. As per the police, the victim girl was walking on the road in front of VIBGYOR School on Tuesday night. When she was going to her house from the school area, the accused suddenly stopped her on the road.
After that, the accused made unwelcome advances towards her and attempted to kiss her. He further molested the woman by attempting to tear her clothes when the girl was protesting him.
After the incident, the girl rushed to the Kondhwa police station and filed a complaint against Varma. Accordingly, police booked the accused under IPC 354 and 354A and apprehended the accused. Assistant Police Inspector Rajesh Usgaonkar is conducting further investigation.
