Sukhu said a new investment policy will be made and the youth will be provided loans without interest to start employment avenues. Special attention will be given to tourism so that the means of employment can be made available to the local people up to the village level.

He said show schemes of five hundred megawatts would be set up in the state and work for them would start soon.

Earlier, amid bad weather, he unfurled the national flag and took a salute from the contingents of HP police, HP Home guards and NCC jawans. He also inspected the parade on this occasion.

Although, the bad weather was playing spoilsport since Tuesday night yet it stopped raining at the time of the function. It started raining once again when almost all the programs had been performed.

This day is a celebration of the anniversary of the day that Himachal Pradesh obtained statehood in the year 1971, although the province was created in the year 1948.

Himachal Pradesh got full statehood on January 25, 1971 and since then the State has progressed by leaps and bounds.

The place was Shimla and the day was January 25, 1971 when then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi reached the ridge ground from Annandale with great difficulty. She announced the complete statehood of Himachal from the ridge ground. At that time many organizations were also against the full statehood of Himachal. Despite this, after a long struggle, Himachal was given the status of a full state. Then Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar became the first Chief Minister of Himachal.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced that 500 MW show schemes will be set up and work on this project will start from the next financial year.

The rates of fruits of the farmers and horticulturists of the state will be fixed, this will be done with their consent, he emphatically said.

He announced that the Robotic surgery facility will be started in the state’s IGMC, Tanda Medical College and Hamirpur Medical College so that people can get better health facilities here and can be saved from financial loss by going to big and expensive hospitals.

Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh was going through a phase of economic crisis. The previous BJP government opened hundreds of institutions without making any provision in the budget, which increased the financial burden by 5000 crores. The former BJP government has gone leaving crores of debt. The employee pensioners’ DA and arrears are due and NPS employees have 8000 crores stuck with the Centre. The promise of giving old pensions has been fulfilled by his government but this will benefit 136000 employees of the state because the employees and officers write the story of the state’s development.

The Chief Minister said that the administration will be made responsible for all the work and basic facilities will be made available to the masses because I have also been from a middle-class family, so I know very well how a middle-class family lives. Better construction of roads will be done so that apples can reach the mandis on time. Government employees and other people directly reached out to those people who have not yet received the benefits of government schemes.

A colourful variety programme was also presented on this occasion and the chief minister gave prizes to those who took part in the function.
