THANE : ACB Trap On Police Sub Inspector | The Navi Mumbai ACB has arrested a woman PSI red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 after demanding ₹60,000 for providing help in a registered case. An FIR has been registered against the woman PSI at the Uran police station and she has been arrested.
The woman PSI has been identified as Sindhu Tukaram Munde (PSI, Uran police station, Navi Mumbai). An FIR has been registered against the complainant’s father. PSI Munde initially demanded ₹60,000 for rendering help in the case. After a compromise, she agreed to accept ₹50,000.
Since the complainant did not want to pay a bribe, he lodged a complaint with the ACB. The complaint was verified. On June 14, 2023, PSI Sindhu Munde accepted ₹50,000 from the complainant in the presence of panches. She was caught red-handed. An FIR has been registered against her at the Uran police station under section 7 of the Prohibition of Corruption Act. She has been arrested.
Thane ACB SP Sunil Lokhande, Addl SP Anil Gherdikar guided DySP Ashwini Santosh Patil, Havaldar Shinde, Patil, Pardhi and Tribhuvan. The arrest of a woman PSI while accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 has created a flutter.
