Pune Crime News | builder cheated of Rs 2.5 crore, case registered against the director of Bafna Motors in Mumbai
Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime News | A builder from Pune has been cheated of Rs 2.50 crore on the pretext of giving good returns or four times the amount of land. In this regard, Ravindra Naupatlal Sakala, a resident of Dhole Patil Road in Pune has filed a complaint at Koregaon Park police station. Accordingly, a case has been registered against Bafna Motors (Mumbai) Pvt. Ltd director Sumitprasad Misrilal Bafna (62) a resident of Marine Drive in Mumbai under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 406, 420. This incident took place between March 31, 2021 and October 2023 at Raviraj Realty Millennium’s office on Dhole Patil Road.
According to the police, “The plaintiff Ravindra Sakala has a construction business in the name of Raviraj Reality. Bafna is also a businessman. Therefore, the plaintiff and the accused are known to each other. In March 2021, Bafna came to the plaintiff’s office on Dhole Patil Road, Pune. He told the plaintiff that he was in dire need of money for the company and real estate. Bafna asked Sakala to invest the amount in his company. Bafna promised good profit or four times the invested amount. Sakala believed and invested Rs 2.50 crore in Bafna’s company. After this, the accused cheated the plaintiff financially without giving any profit or any land.”
Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Nevse.
