Pune | Wakad resident Samita Gore gets ‘Face of Maharashtra’ award

Pune : Policenama online  – Wakad resident Samita Gore has been awarded with ‘Face of Maharashtra’ in the ‘Mrs India One In Million 2021’ national contest. She is the first person from Pimpri Chinchwad to get this award.

 

She is a national player in the pistol shooting category and she has been awarded for maintaining her fitness even 21 years after marriage. She was given the award by businesswoman Shikha Sharma.

 

The competition was held in New Delhi this week and 103 women took part in it. Former Mrs World Dr Aditi Govitrikar, who was the celebrity judge, announced the name of the winners.

 

Professor Ambika Magotra, fashion designer Anjali Sawhney, Payal Singh, health dietician Archana Sinha, former Mister India Sachin Khurana, Prashant Chowdhary, Bollywood fashion photographer Rohit Dhingra were the other judges. Swati Dixit and Prashant Chowdhary had organised the event.

 

Samita Gore had last year received the Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule award. She is a pistol shooting coach and sports dietician based in Pimpri Chinchwad. Her twin daughters Ketki and Kasturi are pistol shooting players.

 

When asked about her success, she said she was attracted to beauty contests from a young age. “I took part in the contest to learn something new. My self confidence was my plus point. A woman can prove herself at any age if time and practice management is done despite being burdened with family responsibilities,” she said.

 

“I got maximum marks in the preliminary round interview, Q and A session in the next round, general knowledge, talent round and ramp walk. Hence, I got the ‘Face of Maharashtra’ award” she added.
