UP: 24 injured as bus overturns in Maharajganj

Maharajganj (UP), Jan 19 (UNI) – Maharajganj News | Around two dozen passengers were injured when a roadways bus overturned after ramming into an electricity police after hitting a bridge in Sadar Kotwali area of Maharajganj district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Thursday. Police sources said that the incident took place on national highway late on Wednesday night when the roadways bus coming from Gorakhpur overturned after ramming into a high tension electricity pole. “Due to this the bus came into contact with the high tension wire and current started flowing in the city. The villagers informed the power department after which the supply was stopped immediately,” they said.

 

Police sources said that around 50 passengers were travelling in the bus of which 24 sustained injuries. “The injured were taken out of the bus and were taken to the district hospital. District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar and Superintendent of Police Dr Kaustubh too reached the spot and took stock of the situation,” they said

 

The Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) said that the injured included Ram Ratan, Ram Narain, Arvind, Paras Nath, Mahesh, Shambhu, Bechan, Phoolmati, Ram Kishun, Kedar, Ram Bhual and Akash.
