Sambhaji Gurav prepared for this campaign by attending to his busy schedule and performing his government duties. He reached the mission by flying from Mumbai to Dubai, from Dubai to Rio de Janeiro again from Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires and finally from Bunos to Mendoza.

Talking about this campaign, Guruv said, there are currently extreme cold conditions at Mount Aconcaguadue due to heavy snowfall. The temperature of this place is minus 20 degrees. Also, since the mountain is in the middle of both the oceans, the wind speed is high here. Since the top of this peak is at an altitude of 23,000 feet, the oxygen level in this place is low.

“As there is a large amount of snowfall, the climbers can proceed further after medical examination in good weather. After climbing the world’s highest peak Mount Everest in 2021, I intended to climb all the seven highest peaks of the seven continents in one year. But due to COVID, the mission was interrupted. On July 26, 2021, Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, was climbed. Then on August 15, 2021, Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, was climbed. Also on September 29, 2022, Mount Koji Asko, the highest peak in the continent of Australia, was climbed. And now the fifth mission of my climbing expedition has been completed,” said Gurav.

All my well-wishers and friends have always supported me financially and emotionally in this campaign. Particularly, I got support from all the fellow officers in my Session No. 103, DGP Sanjay Kumar, CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Jalindar Supekar and DCP R. Raja.
